Udstillingen Xammlung 2025 v/ kunstnersammenslutningen Guirlanden, blev vist i KiZ Kulturhus og Ausstellungsraum in der Universitätsbibliothek i byen Giessen, Tyskland. 

Xammlung er en eksperimenterende udstilling og et samarbejdsprojekt mellem kunstnersammenslutningen Guirlanden og Die Giessener Antikensammlung, den klassiskarkæologiske afdeling på Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen.

Titlens X står for et møde mellem antikken og samtidskunsten på tværs af tid og sted.

Prokektet CHITON v/ Iben West og Else Ploug Isaksen indgår i Xammlung – objekter, parafraser over den oldgræske klædningsdragt, chitonen – udfoldet i forskellige materialer som stofpliceringer, foldninger i papir, fotos, gipsafstøbninger, tryk på stof. 
Den tyske kunsthistoriker og klassisk arkæolog Magarete Biebers (1879-1978) afhandlinger om græsk beklædning, Grichische Kleidung og antikke teatre har væres inspiration til projektet.
Magarete Biebers afhandlinger medførte, at hun blev udnævnt til professor i 1919 i Giessen.

KiZ:
Antikken griber fysisk ind i bygningen ved en plantegning på gulvet i underetagen i KiZ. Tegningen stammer fra et Dionysosteater og Perikles' musikhus på Akropolis. Guirlandens værker er opstillet på denne struktur fra Antikken - og indgår dermed i en samtale med og om antikkens former og tankesæt. I udstillingens overetage vises de enkelte kunstneres værker.
Universitätsbibliothek:
I denne del af Xammlung vises skyggebilleder – skygger af objekter med referencer til gipssamlingen og antikken på rummets glasruder.

The exhibition Xammlung 2025 by the artist collective Guirlanden was shown at KiZ Kulturhus and the exhibition space in the University Library in the city of Giessen, Germany.

Xammlung is an experimental exhibition and a collaborative project between the artist collective Guirlanden and Die Giessener Antikensammlung, the Classical Archaeology Department at Justus Liebig University Giessen.

The “X” in the title stands for an encounter between antiquity and contemporary art across time and place.

The project CHITON by Iben West and Else Ploug Isaksen is part of Xammlung – objects and paraphrases of the ancient Greek garment, the chiton – unfolded in various materials such as fabric pleating, paper foldings, photographs, plaster casts, and textile prints. The writings of the German art historian and classical archaeologist Margarete Bieber (1879-1978) on Greek clothing (Griechische Kleidung) and ancient theatre have served as inspiration for the project. Bieber’s scholarship led to her appointment as professor in Giessen in 1919.

KiZ:
Antiquity intervenes physically in the building by a floor plan drawn on the ground floor of KiZ. The drawing originates from a Dionysian theatre and Pericles’ music hall on the Acropolis. Guirlanden’s works are arranged upon this ancient structure – thus entering into a dialogue with, and about, the forms and ideas of antiquity. On the upper floor of Kiz, the individual artists’ works are shown.
University Library:
Xammlung presents shadow images – shadows of objects referencing the plaster cast collection and antiquity – projected onto the glass surfaces of the room.
